A little about hidnseek

I first heard about geocaching in 2005, while reading a website about house cleaning. It was listed as a date night activity. Of course, never having heard of it, I had to google it and found it fascinating! I asked a few friends who I thought may have a GPS, and nobody had one, so I dropped the idea. My husband at the time bought me a GPS for my birthday, and my geocaching adventures started. I took the family out on my first day, and we DNFed the first cache went looked for. Being new, we had no idea what to expect and figured they should have neon signs pointing to the obvious spot. We did not give up and found the next cache we looked for William’s Second, we then were last finders as well.

I started geocaching April 2005. In 2006, I was one of the founders of Canada’s Capital Cacher, a community of geocaching in the Ottawa area. We have minted a few geocoins over the years. We hold seasonal workshops and monthly meet and eats. To see events going on in the Ottawa area, start here: Ottawa Events

Since then, I have upgraded my GPS several times, going from a Magellan Sportrack to a Garmin Oregon 600. I also upgraded my life partner to a taller, friendlier, geocaching one 😉 (When your husband is referred to in the geocaching world as the parol officer, it is time for an upgrade.) Life is too short not to enjoy it with the right people.

Since my divorce, I have become a Life Coach, helping others to drop stress and fear and enjoy peace and calm. I am currently studying Forest Reiki and sound healing. A walk in nature, listening to the birds, feeling the bark of trees, smelling the earth, seeing such greenery and tasting the air does more for your health than a day inside.

Go out for a walk, find a cache!
