You are here, and thank you for pausing.

Welcome to this corner of the universe. Where beauty is found in the hidden.

I am a fibre artist who rug hooks, weaves and spins.

I am also a geocacher who seeks hidden containers in the nautral beauty of our world. I am a volunteer reviewer for geocaching, who publishes cache pages in Nova Scotia.

Above all though,I am a human being who seeks joy in the day to day exploration of life, planet and universe. I enjoy sharing my joys and experiencing the joys of others. I will admit it was not always easy to seek joy. It has taken years of self work, to learn to laugh daily while loving more and caring less, to enjoying this life I live.

Fibre Arts

After spending years as a Early Childhood Educator, I started exploring the fibre arts. I started with rug hooking, a simple 6×6 inch kit introduced me to a meditative art that transforms wool into images and art. I went on to join my local guild, taking various classes on diffent techniques, and styles with different materials.

I eexpanded my exploration to spinning. From taking a fleece off a sheep and transforming that into yarn, dying it and using it in my projects. I have used various wheels I have found on marketplace and fixed up. Ashford: traditional, Traveller, Kiwi 2 and a Wee Peggy, I use in double drive. I have now moved to a Lendrum single treddle wheel made by Gordon Lendrum in his early days. Recently I have treated my self to my firist new wheel, ordering the 50th anniversary Lendrum wheel, now made by new owners.

Of course, spinning my own yarns has had me looking for new ways to use it. I found an estate sale of weaving items on marketplace and have been using lap, table and floor looms, as I explore weaving.

Geocaching

In life we tend to take the path most travelled. Geocaching helps remind me to explore off the trail. To pause, look around, take the beauty of an area in and see why someone has led me to this location.
